2009 Season Underway!

With a week of games in the books, and a successful opening ceremony, the 2009 season is underway. A crowd of 1500 people or more was present to see the teams from Tee-Ball through Majors parade onto the field, while a full schedule of 22 games were played before and after the ceremony. Spencer Jones kicked off the ceremony by reciting the Little League pledge.


The Tee Ball Phillies presented a "thank you" banner to Mayor Johnny Piper, councilmen Geno Grubs and James Lewis, for the new lights on field 1. Mike and Steven Parchman were recognized as well for purchasing a new scoreboard for CNLL.

Mayor Piper spoke briefly of his support for parks, and programs that benefit the children in Clarksville. He recognized CNLL as an example of a fine youth program, and pledged that he and the city council would continue to support CNLL. He praised CNLL's volunteer spirit. Mayor Piper also affirmed his commitment to upgrading the lights on the senior field and field 2 in 2010 and 2011.

As the ceremony came to a close, the dignitaries threw out the first pitch to some of CNLL's finest catchers.
